Better health records for mission hospitals everywhere.
Seedlamp is a family-led Christian initiative. We help mission hospitals that serve remote and poor communities around the world move to affordable, open-source health records, and we stay to train their teams.
What we do
- Set up simple, affordable records
- We help a hospital choose and configure open-source software for patient registration, visits, prescriptions, and basic billing, so there are no license fees and the hospital owns its data.
- Train the people who use it
- Software only helps if staff are comfortable with it. Our family brings healthcare and technology backgrounds, and we teach in plain language, in short sessions that fit around patient care.
- Stay for the long term
- We plan for years, not weeks. That means support after launch, help when staff change, and records that stay useful as a hospital grows.
How we work with a hospital
- Listen firstWe start with calls and, where possible, a visit, to understand how your hospital works today and what would help most.
- Start smallWe pilot with one department or clinic, so staff can learn and shape the setup before anything wider.
- Train and supportWe train your team, document the setup in your own words, and stay available as questions come up.
- Review and growWe look honestly at what worked, fix what did not, and expand only when your team is ready.
Where we are now
Seedlamp is new. We are a family in Texas, in the early stages of forming a nonprofit organization.
We are not asking for donations at this time. We are looking for conversations with mission hospitals about what would genuinely help, and for guidance from people who have done this kind of work in under-resourced places.
About
The name. Jesus said no one lights a lamp and hides it, but sets it on a stand so it gives light to everyone in the house. He also described the kingdom as a mustard seed, the smallest of seeds that grows into a tree. Seedlamp is our hope for both: something small, kept lit, that grows in service to others, especially the poor.
“Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: the blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.”Matthew 11:4–5, World English Bible
